Previous edition

A success for the public, exhibitors, demonstrations, races and workshops. On the 17th and 18th of November in Bologna, the first edition of Model Game produced by BolognaFiere, was held in exhibition stand 19 of the Trade Fair District.

It was an instant success in terms of the number of visitors, the presence of exhibitors (both in terms of numbers and in terms of quality) and of novelties presented, the number one workshop attraction being “Correct Circuit” dedicated to model-railway building which was created especially for the event of Model Game.

Also noteworthy were the races and demonstrations from the world of RC where the races organised in collaboration with QuellidelmodellismoRC from Bologna stood out (with the categories of stock, truck, formula 1, supastox and modified 1,35), the drifting races, the scalers death race organized in collaboration with RC Dragone and the large area dedicated to the world of trucks and earth-movers. Furthermore, starting from this year, finally making its first appearance, the flying area with top-level demonstrations organised by FlyModelComponents.

One of the aspects which undoubtedly showed a marked quality improvement from an organisational point of view was on the one hand, a marked improvement in the exhibiting method, with highly elegant and refined outfitting, and on the other hand, the presence of big names in the model-making world such as Italtrading, Radiosistemi, Fly Model Components, Biz Model, Schumacher, Fabo, Netkom, Fast Rc, Mon-Tech Racing, Robitronic, to name just those from the world of RC, who were not present at the Bologna show in previous years. From the point of view of static and model railway-building we can name Italeri, which held its 2° national competition of static model-making and presented the preview of its new helicopter from the 007 film, Sky Fall, Gieffeci, who presented the preview of a new digitalisation system for plastic railway models and Os.Kar the highly-rated Sardinian production company of locomotives.

There was also excellent participation by retailers involved who had the disadvantage of only a few months to organise the exhibition due to the buyout of the brand by Bologna Fiere from the previous organisers which only took place at the end of May this year. On this basis, certainly the 2013 edition, with a whole year of work available, will make Model Game a new important national appointment for the model-making world, an objective also well-declared by the organisers.

The figures for Model Game edition 2012 are as follows:

    • 14.825 visitors
    • 85 exhibiting companies
    • 10.000 sq m of total exhibition area
    • 6.000 sq m. of demonstration areas
    • workshop periods which are alternated between the various areas (static, railway, RC)
    • 10 races
    • 18 hours of demonstrations

See you again at Model Game from the 15 to the 17 November 2013.
